Sweet shot there James.

Didn't realise Breakwell was riding for Dirt now.

Brilliant photo!

Advanced critique - if anything, the zoom or crop is a little too tight for my liking, more air/ground might give a little more context. Or maybe not?!

You just had to do this again didn't you:
F Number: F/2.8
Focal Length: 135 mm

I'll use that lens relentlessly until you buy one! I want a 17-55 now if it's any consolation, as the 18-70 doesn't cut it at gigs or in the forest for me, and I want the cleaner backgrounds that a shallower DoF offers.

That's the un-cropped image, maybe I was being a little tight with the zoom.

Or Breakwell just going too quick and getting down the barrel of the 70-200?!

Great shot, just being hyper-critical!

17-55 is a killer. Sounds like we'll both be skint soon!

How about a prime - maybe 50 1.8 for gigs?

My only issue with the 17-55mm is that it's a DX format lens, so should I go full frame in the future with some new Nikon beast, it'll be redundant... maybe I'm getting ahead of myself! I miss the slower shutter, pan and blurred background that I get with a wide angle, but I hate going back to the old kit lens after using the infinitely superior glass of the 70-200! Maybe I'll pick up one second hand to save some cash, as it worked out well with the telephoto.

Anyway, 50mm F/1.8 is already in my bag - got a minter off a forum for £50 delivered! Pretty much a staple for badly lit venues, and probably the best value for money lens in the world.

Wow, awesome photo. The focus is great :)

If you can pop the cash for a full frame body, the 17-55 on D200 will make a nice backup!
